Commencement of Construction on the New $60 Million Devonport Oval Sports Complex

Construction has begun on the $60 million Devonport Oval Sports Complex — a new multi-sport precinct by Peddle Thorp Architects featuring courts, training facilities, and a wellness hub, designed to unite sport, health, and community across northern Tasmania.

Peddle Thorp Architects is excited to announce the commencement of construction on the new $60 million Devonport Oval Sports Complex. Our design unites six sporting codes within a single, integrated precinct, balancing high-performance functionality with a strong sense of community identity.

The complex will feature a three-court community hall, a modern show court hall designed for top-level competitions with capacity for more than 3000 spectators, outdoor netball courts, elite training facilities, and a collaborative wellness hub delivered in partnership with St. Luke's Health.

Designed as an enduring community infrastructure, the complex is set to become a cornerstone for sport, health, and wellbeing across northern Tasmania.

We look forward to sharing more milestones and updates as construction progresses.
