Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre Water Slides and Splash Park

The Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre Water Slides and Splash Park redevelopment will deliver a vibrant new aquatic play destination designed to broaden the Centre’s recreational offering and create an engaging experience for children, families and the wider community.

The $16 million upgrade features a 400m² splash park, two waterslides and new change facilities, carefully integrated with the existing aquatic centre. The design brings together dynamic forms, colour and water-based play to create an inclusive, welcoming environment that encourages activity, social connection and repeat visitation.

Sustainability is central to the redevelopment, with gas-powered systems being replaced by electric alternatives in support of Maribyrnong City Council’s net-zero emissions strategy. Designed for delivery while the existing Centre remains operational, the project balances a lively new community attraction with the practical requirements of an active aquatic facility. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2027.
