The $23 million expansion of Bendigo Stadium transformed the venue into a world-class sporting and events destination for Greater Bendigo.
The design introduced a new show court arena with capacity for up to 4,000 spectators through a combination of fixed and retractable seating, supported by three additional indoor courts and twelve outdoor netball courts.
A suite of community focused amenities was also delivered, including international standard change rooms, administration areas, meeting rooms, a crèche, and a bar/bistro, ensuring the stadium functions as both a competition venue and a social hub.
The striking curved roof, clad in Kingzip aluminium, provides the stadium with a distinctive architectural identity while delivering the height and flexibility required for international standard events.
Sustainability was a key consideration throughout the design, with natural ventilation, daylighting, energy-efficient systems and durable low-maintenance materials incorporated to reduce long-term environmental impact and operational costs.
Completed in 2018, the stadium now welcomes more than 10,000 visitors each week and regularly hosts local, national and international sporting competitions, concerts and cultural events, cementing its place as a landmark facility for Greater Bendigo.
