Peddle Thorp Architects Principal and sports sector leader, Rob Alessi, recently spoke at NSC26 in Melbourne, joining a discussion on the future of community sport and recreation infrastructure.
Rob’s presentation explored how ageing community facilities can be reimagined for the next generation, with a focus on extending asset life through intelligent renewal, strategic upgrades and a deeper understanding of what communities already value.
As Rob reflected: “If we can do that successfully, we don’t just extend the life of facilities. We extend their relevance.”This thinking is central to Peddle Thorp Architects’ work in the sports sector, helping councils, clubs and community organisations plan, adapt and deliver facilities that support participation, wellbeing and long term community use.
