The Cairns Aquarium & Marine Research Facilityis an exciting world-class flagship tourism infrastructure project which will enhance Queensland’s vibrant north by offering new custom designed visitor draw card showcasing thousands of colourful marine fish and animals found only in the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. The project provides one of Australia’s most popular holiday destinations with a spectacular public aquarium of its own.
Designed to deliver an immersive and educational experience, the facility features purpose built habitats, interactive presentations, and cutting edge life support systems that replicate the diverse ecosystems of Tropical North Queensland. Visitors can journey through themed zones that highlight the unique marine and freshwater environments of the region, from vibrant coral reefs to rainforest rivers, while behind the scenes research and conservation programs support the protection and understanding of these fragile habitats. The Cairns Aquarium not only serves as a major tourism attraction but also as a vital centre for environmental awareness, scientific collaboration, and community engagement.
