New York Influences Lygon Place In Brunswick
August 18, 2016
A trip to New York was the primary inspiration behind the design for the apartment complex Lygon Place, in Brunswick with design director Peter Brook describing it as “simple, elegant and refined with high-quality finishes”.
In the recent opening to potential buyers, Peter Brook highlighted Peddle Thorp’s unique position as Australia’s leading architect in this area.
Six years in the making, Peter said Lygon Place was “in one of the most exciting locations” he has seen in Peddle Thorp’s entire portfolio of projects.
Lygon Place is ideally located in the heart of vibrant Brunswick East, within proximity to a variety of restaurants and everyday shopping needs along with being within proximity of Melbourne University, RMIT University, and the Parkville Medical Precinct. As one of Melbourne’s most sought after suburbs for lifestyle, amenity, and proximity, Brunswick East continues to hold its place as a leading location for investment.
Right on the doorstep of the CBD, the relatively small precinct is unique in its high percentage of open green spaces, efficient transport links and significant café culture with over 150 restaurants, bars, and cafes in the area.
Trend forecasts show East Brunswick’s population set to double more than by 2031. Increased demand has seen growth in median unit prices for 2015 being a notable 10.4% higher than five years ago. Median rent for units is at an average $420 weekly while rental yield is at 4.1%. Regularly featured as one of Melbourne’s top price growth suburbs, Brunswick East is also a government-designated major activity centre, prioritised for planning to extend commercial, cultural and community services.
